  1. Hi Stuart. This is Bruce Carrier – we spoke briefly re: your book about the Circus Fire as you were working on it. I recently saw a photo someone had posted on Facebook and I’m positive it was my Dad running from the tent after having pulled it up a bit so he and I could get out. His pant leg is torn exactly as I recall. Wish I could post it here but not sure how.

  2. Your piece on Yates is the best by far that was ever written about him. I was his student at Iowa 45 years ago and am writing a short essay built around your comment, “How come no one does anything about it?” Thanks.
